Hi, I'm Shannon, Most days you can find me in yoga pants working on the couch with a smile on my face and a coffee in my hand. I have a positive and joyful outlook on life and love deep conversations with my soul sisters. I am an avid paddleboarder, I love yoga, enjoying smores next to a campfire and my guilty pleasure is coconut ice cream... Yum!!

I am so proud of my husband of 7 years Jeff as he has recently left his 9-5 in pursuit of his passion, brewing beer. We now run a successful little craft brewery in Jarvis Ontario.
My Dog Mika is my best friend!! I once did a photo shoot with just her and I, Yup I left Jeff at home for that one.

The person I look up to most in life is my Dad Tom, He is kindhearted, hilarious and has run his own welding and fabrication shop for the last 20 years. I get my entrepreneurial spirit from him.

I am passionate about travel, I am always dreaming of the places I will go to. Nothing would make me happier than to photograph weddings while on vacation.

I truly believe in following your dreams, making every moment count and serving others and that love is a treasure that we all have within us.

My Photographic Style

My Style is raw, real and authentic. I will do anything to make you laugh, and I promise never to make you close your eyes and put your heads together (You aren't sleeping). I make it simple for you, keep it light and focus on the precious moments that occur naturally between to people who are naturally in love.

Years from now I want you to look at your wedding photos and have all those memories come flooding back. The bliss, sentiment, light, and laughter from the day you wed.

Frequntly Asked Questions

FAQ

01.

What is your pricing?

No two weddings are alike; therefore we like to chat with you first and find out what matters to you before throwing numbers your way. We work with as little as 3-hour intimate ceremonies to full day celebrations and everything in between. Drop us a line, and we will be happy to tailor a no fluff package just for you!

Our prices start at $1750

02.

Do you work with a Second Shooter?

Yes, I do! Sometimes they are helping me arrange a family photo or assisting me with lighting other times they are capturing candids or a second perspective of your special moments. We work best when we are working together (We do not split up in the morning from prep coverage)

03.

Do you Travel?

I live in Cayuga (Just south of Hamilton) The majority of my wedding commissions come from the Hamilton, Niagara, and Muskoka regions. I book a limited number of destination weddings per year. I have a few bucket list destinations I hope to one day visit.

04.

Do you offer video?

We do not have a team member as of yet, but after seven years of photographing weddings, I have worked with some fantastic and not great videographers. I would be happy to point you in the right direction.

05.

How long does it take to get our photos?

Online galleries are sent to you within 6-8 weeks from your wedding date. Your photos (both high res and web sized files) can be downloaded directly from your gallery.

06.

How many colour vs B&W images do we receive

You can expect anywhere from 30% - 50% B&W images. Each photo is edited with care to correct color balance, cropping, straightening, and blemish removal. I choose your black and white pictures if there is a strong sense of emotion, or feeling that expressed without distracting colors. Rest assured a lot of thought goes into the editing and selection process.

07.

How many photos will we receive?

The number of photos depends on many factors - The number of guests, hours of coverage, emotions from you and your guests, types of event, time on the dance floor, etc. On a six-hour day filled with laughter and celebration, you can expect anywhere between 300-450 photos.

08.

Do we get the copy right?

The short answer to this is no. The long answer to this is while the "creator" of the images own the copyright you the customers will receive a print release allowing you to print your pictures at any lab you desire.

09.

Do we get the RAW unedited photos?

These files are not available for viewing or for purchase. It's like asking your caterer to give you the leftover ingredients to make your dinner! Please know that the images that we do not deliver are merely outtakes, blinkers, poorly exposed photos, awkward moments. We cull and give you the best representation of your day. We do not limit the number of photos you receive to meet a specific number. They are your moments and your memories, and we respect that when selecting the deliverables.

10.

Can we print our own photos or do we have to print through you?

Once you receive your gallery link, you will have the options to add photos to your shopping cart or download the files. You are free to print wherever you would like. However, we do not guarantee the quality of a photo printed at an outside lab. We print your pictures at a trusted professional Canadian lab and ensure you are receiving a quality product. Since we highly recommend printing your photos, We would be happy to recommend labs if you would like to print on your own.

11.

We want an album how does that work?

Albums can be purchased with your package at a reduced rate or added on after your wedding. After your gallery is delivered, we ask that you select 50 of your favourite images that you would love to see in your album. We will design a preview for you to approve or make changes. Once you have accepted the album, we send it to print (This can take up to 10 weeks, Please be patient)

12.

What is an Online Gallery, do we also get a USB?

Media is constantly changing, and when I started shooting weddings we delivered files on a CD, then we switched to a USB. We now choose to provide all images in an Online gallery. You will receive a link to your photos, and you can like, share, email, download and print your photos straight from your gallery. The best part is we will keep them safe for five years!

13.

Do you offer Engagement Sessions?

Yes, I do! I love engagement sessions! They are great icebreakers, and they help us to get to know you better and help you to feel at ease around the camera. I recommend turning your session into a fun date, Pick a spot you love to go to, an activity you enjoy to do together you could go out for a pint of beer, or go rock climbing together. Not only does it take your mind off of the photos, but it will show your future generations who you were and how much fun you had together at this time in your life.

I am currently only photographing engagement session Monday's, Tuesday's and Wednesdays. We shoot around 3 pm in the wither moths and 6 pm in the summer months.

14.

How would you describe your style?

While I tend to lean towards the Documentary/photojournalistic styles, these are just trendy buzzwords in the industry today. A truly journalistic photographer would never suggest or pose, journalists prefer to tell a story as is, without inserting their vision into the photos.

An editorial photographer is aware of all the elements of a great photo, the position of a head and a hand could elevate an image, the direction and quality of the light can be adjusted too, their work is clean and perfect.

I like to think I fall somewhere between; I love letting a moment unfold naturally! Years of experience has taught me its okay to guide you a little, talk to you, so you feel comfortable and know that you look your best. I like to think I am a little bit of a director in where I give directions to the perfect moment and let the camera roll on your true selves.

15.

Do you take posed family photos?

Absolutely!!! These are such essential photos on your wedding day. I do like to move through them quickly and ask you limit the groupings to immediate family only. These photos the ones with your core group of loved ones are photos I like to take and I know will be displayed proudly in frames on mantles. They may be the last photo you share with a grandparent, or even a parent (Like my mother) so yes I take them, and I care about making them.

16.

Can we give you a shot list?

The simple answer to this is no if I am too focused on making sure I am getting all the things on your list that the latest bridal magazine tells you to give us... I am missing the magic that is right in front of me. The moments are what matter! But if you have sewn a piece of your grandfathers plans shirt to the hem of your dress, or are wearing one of your dad's dress shirts for hair and makeup that is a detail I need to know. I want to document the unique elements of your day.

17.

Do you have insurance?

ABSOLUTELY!! Please don't hire someone who doesn't have good insurance in place.

18.

What is your payment schedule?

A booking fee/retainer of $1,000 is due to reserve your date. The final balance is due 30 days before your wedding. I'll send you an email reminder when your payment is due. I like to make things as easy as possible for you - I know you have a lot on your plate.

19.

How long have you been in buisness?

I photographed my first wedding as an assistant for Splash Photography in 2010. I still second shoot approximately 5 -15 weddings a year with Splash Photography. Beginning my career as a second Shooter has given me a unique perspective and an ability to predict a moment before it happens.

I opened Allure Photography in 2011 and had photographed over 150 weddings since then. Last year I rebranded my business to Shannon Bunton Photography. It is a little more personal, and Since Building a relationship with my couples long past the wedding day matters to me, I think the rebrand was a smart choice.

20.

Can you hold a date for me?

I am so sorry. I am not able to hold a date or pencil you in. To be fair to everyone I can't hold a date without a retainer and a signed contract. I accept looking on a first come first serve basis.
